Yahoo! games gets on demand adverts
Yahoo!´s gaming portal is set to increase the number of games downloads supported with online marketing material.
The world´s second biggest search engine expects to provide visitors to its site which offers a mix of gaming news, previews and game downloads with a catalogue of 400 titles by the end of the year, according to ClickZ.
Downloads currently available on the site range from simple flash-based games to online strategy titles, and are available for paid-download or as part of ad-supported service.
Advertising and media agencies can purchase both search and in-game advertising from the firm as part of one package.
Kyle Laughlin, head of games at Yahoo!, told ClickZ: "We want to make the lives as easy as possible for advertisers, so if an advertiser wants to purchase search and in-game, we will be able to equitably sell a package."
According to e-consultancy, a leading online and digital marketing website, increasing demand for on-demand content has changed the face of marketing.
More than 100 million people have used the BBC´s on-demand iPlayer since it was launched six months ago.
