Virgin Media launches mobile broadband
Virgin Media has launched a £15 a month mobile broadband package, it has been reported.
The deal will entitle users to a free USB modem and 3GB of data each month, and follows mobile broadband services launched by 3, Vodafone, Orange and O2.
Available on an 18 month contract, the service also provides web surfers an online usage calculator so users can keep tabs on the amount they download, ensuring they choose the right deal.
Virgin claims 3GB of data amounts to 2,000 emails, 100 hours of web surfing or 200 music track downloads.
The move comes as industry leaders get together to put mobile broadband modems in laptops as standard.
According to the Guardian, the first laptops with mobile broadband will be available before Christmas.
Meanwhile, Virgin Media has received a warning from the Information Commissioner´s Office after it admitted losing the bank details of 3,000 of its customers in June of this year, pocket-lint.co.uk reports.
