Valentine´s Day keeps UK internet user numbers high
Last month saw a high level of internet usage by UK consumers, with traffic being driven by those seeking gifts for Valentine´s Day.
That is according to figures published by comScore, the internet intelligence service, on Tuesday (March 25th), which revealed that visitors to the Flowers, Gifts and Greeting category increased by 28 per cent between January and February.
Although online visitation figures traditionally decrease in February, there were nearly seven million visitors to this category last month.
Several other internet categories also experienced gains, including auto manufacturer which saw visitor numbers grow by nine per cent during this period.
Career resources experienced a seven per cent increase in total unique visitors, while the category of e-cards saw a five per cent growth.
The data also revealed that Google Sites continued to dominate in terms of UK visitor numbers, with Microsoft Sites and eBay coming second and third in the rankings respectively.
