Shift in top Internet Yellow Pages sites
Recent research into US Internet Yellow Pages (IYP) search activity has revealed that last year there were shifts among the most popular sites.
According to data published by comScore, the global internet information provider, Yellowpages.com Network displaced Yahoo! Sites to become the IYP search market leader in the last quarter of 2007.
It achieved a 20.2 per cent share of searches, representing a year-on-year increase of 5.6 per cent.
Superpages.com Network came second in the rankings with a 20 per cent share of shares - a decrease on its 20.9 per cent share in the last quarter of 2006.
Serge Matta, senior vice president of comScore, commented: "In the highly competitive IYP search market, partnerships played a significant role in determining the 2007 landscape.
"Yellowpages Network was one of the key beneficiaries of this strategy, since partnerships helped it secure a leading position in the market."
