Search marketing exceeds expectations

17 July 2008

Search marketing exceeds expectations Search engine optimisation and other digital marketing techniques are exceeding industry expectations, according to new research by Zanox.

International online marketing firm Zanox said that traditional marketing platforms, like print advertising and mail outs are losing ground to digital commerce.

According to the firm, consumers spend a substantial amount of time looking for product information on the internet and a large proportion make purchases through search engines.

Christopher Dessi, vice president of ad sales for Zanox North America, said: "Search marketing continues to thrive because savvy marketers understand that search engines create greater awareness for their products and services more efficiently than newspapers, TV and radio combined."

The announcement comes as the British government plans to increase its advertising spend to £150 million a year.

Despite cutting its advertising budget by 12 per cent last year, the amount of tax-payers´ money spent on digital advertising jumped by 85 per cent to £22.5 million.
