SEO releases ´effectively´ reach audience
Search engine optimised (SEO) press releases are one of the most effective ways to spread a company´s brand across the internet and into the public consciousness, an expert has claimed.
Speaking at a recent web seminar hosted by online marketing agency ClearSaleing, internet marketing expert Bill Balderaz explained that SEO press releases are an effective means of reaching a large number of "influencers", whether they are blogs, emails, news sites or RSS feeds.
He advised anyone looking to create a social media friendly press release to ensure adequate time is spent identifying the most significant keywords to a potential audience, while ensuring that the release is indexed in Google News and Yahoo! News.
"Online influencers are the key to any word of mouth marketing program. When bloggers and other prominent online personalities are spreading the word about your products and services, good things happen," he said.
Mr Balderaz also suggested including "forward to a friend" and "print" functions, as well as links to dig, del.icio.us, StumbleUpon, Furl and Reddit, all to ensure that the release will proliferate through the web as much as possible.
According to a recent report from the Federation of Small Businesses, more than half of the UK´s small and medium sized enterprises still do not have any online presence.
