Mobile internet ´will see increased traffic to gambling sites´
The online population is set to grow even further, as mobile internet advances will make it increasingly easy for consumers to access gambling websites while on the move.
That is the opinion of Brian Wright, business director at the Remote Gambling Association (RGA), who said that "mobile [phones are] the next big thing" in remote gambling.
He added that, while it is difficult to determine how much the industry will grow as a result of advances in the mobile internet, revenues are predicted to rise sharply.
Mr Wright commented: "For a while now people have been saying that mobile [phones] is the next big thing. Revenues are going up but there have been some huge predictions about billions of pounds of revenue.
"It´s difficult to say how large it will grow but as telephone technology develops, products will increase and they will become far more user-friendly. Mobile will be the next big area."
