LoveFilm ´shakes up online strategy´
Online movie rental firm LoveFilm is launching a new online viral marketing campaign in order to raise brand awareness and drive customers to its website, it has been reported.
Advertising agency TradeDoubler has been appointed to lead the initiative and the company will be responsible for creating and evaluating the success of the marketing strategy, according to PrecisionMarketing.
The website claims that the viral campaign will be the first that LoveFilm has closely monitored and tracked the success of.
Commenting on the appointment of TradeDoubler, LoveFilm affiliate manager Jason Norris told the news provider: "Tracking the viral impact on a performance basis makes this a really exciting new step in our digital strategy."
LoveFilm offers home-delivered DVD, Blu-ray and video game rentals and is currently offering a 14-day free trial, allowing users to borrow any of the 65,000 titles available at no cost.
In November, the firm teamed up with high street drinks retailer Threshers to offer customers discount DVDs.
