Asda launches games website
Supermarket chain Asda has launched an online gaming site aimed at educating children about the importance of health and nutrition.
Targeted at children between five and 14-years-old, the site has a variety of interactive animations and games on offer.
The website also provides an online resource for teachers working with pupils between Key Stage 1 and 3.
Asda´s online resource is still in development but provides printable activities for teachers for use in the classroom or at home.
Natalie Cunningham, Asda brand manager, told mad.co.uk: "Through regular communication with teachers and parents it became obvious that there was a lack of topical, relevant and trustworthy health information out there."
She added that as a result Asda, which is owned by US retailer Wal-Mart, created a "one-stop-shop" for both adults and children which is linked to the national curriculum.
Meanwhile, the chief executive officer of Asda Andy Bond said food inflation has peaked and prices will drop in the future, reports the Guardian.
