Adobe launches tool to search for flash video
Adobe has announced it is to work with Google and Yahoo! to improve search results for web content featuring Adobe Flash Player technology.
The company said that it is to provide the search firms with its technology to further develop the indexing of the Flash file format by search engines.
It also hopes the move will reveal information that search engines do not bring back at present.
Bill Coughran, senior vice president of engineering at Google, said his firm has been "working hard" to discover ways of improving the way such content is read.
"Improving how we crawl dynamic content will ultimately enhance the search experience for our users," he remarked.
Adobe reported recently that its Adboe Media Player now contains 15,000 pieces of content, of which broadcasters and publishers have provided 400 shows.
The media player is a "customisable, cross-platform" application, it noted.
